In this class of Dianthus, Chiba is the most compact series: only 20- 25 cm (8- 10 in). The flowers are 3 cm (1.25 in) in diameter.The short and strong flower stems show clusters of well- rounded flowers. Because of its compactness Dianthus Chiba does well in high density pack or small pot and container programs. The series is suitable for production in 10- 12 cm (4- 5 in) pots. Chiba requires less growth regulators and is heat, cold and rain resistant. It is available in twelve colours, a formula mixture of all colours and a mixture of picotee colours named Auricula mix.
